About Zipstory

Zipstory is your town, in real time — shared by the people who are there.

Discover useful local updates, honest experiences, genuine questions, and moments from everyday community life. Every community post is location-tagged, time-stamped, and submitted by a real person sharing something about the local area — see what people are sharing about nearby places right now.

Four kinds of posts

  • Spotted — something happening or worth knowing: a line out the door, a road closure, a new opening, a deal.
  • Review — an honest take on a local business, from someone who actually went.
  • Ask — a question answered by someone nearby who knows the area.
  • Moment — a slice of local life: the sunset, the surf, the town being the town.

Real people, real places

Zipstory is built around real places. Every post is connected to a place or local area, which keeps the feed relevant, nearby, and easy to understand. Community posts are not scraped or imported from other platforms, and paid promotions are never disguised as community stories. Zipstory may help with organization, tags, or optional wording suggestions — but people remain responsible for what they share, and nothing is ever posted on their behalf. Honest local information from real people — not stale directories or paid placement disguised as community opinion.

Local businesses, clearly labeled

Businesses have clearly labeled business profiles and tools for sharing offers, events, and rewards. Business content is always identified as business content and is never presented as an independent community post. When you make a qualifying purchase at a participating business and share your visit, you can earn real cashback — sent to your own bank account.

One town at a time

We're building Zipstory the way good towns are built: one at a time, done right. We started in Laguna Beach, California, and we grow where the community grows.
