Mission Statement
First, we, the Zipstory team, are all about stimulating the local community. Social media today has such a global focus that we tend to forget to really live locally. So we decided that we want to bring the focus back to a local level. Our goal is to change the way locals experience where they live, for the better! We hope to do this by cultivating a local community mindset through generating local conversation within Zipstory. We aim to make Zipstory an informative and engaging social media platform for locals, where they can share and discover fun things to do in their city, ask other locals questions about their city, blog about their moments in their city, and more!
Here are just some of the reasons how we do that.
- We pay our Zipsters from a share of our local business revenue who post content based on their positive impact.
- We provide a platform for community conversations.
- We provide Safeguards in place to promote a safe space while ensuring free speech.
- We verify our Zipsters are real local people to ensure personal accountability.
- We provide permissions to features based on demonstrated positive behavior.
Secondly, we are also all about stimulating the local economy. There are so many local businesses, whether they are a brick and mortar down the street or a new online shop, that are constantly overlooked. Our goal on this end is to give local businesses an outlet where they can gain exposure for themselves in an effective and affordable way. Businesses get exposure with Zipstory on 3 levels:
- Being seen on the business feed and pages
- Broadcasting local events and pop-up stores
- Keeping your Zipstory followers up to date on new products and sales
Zipstory is meant to be beneficial for everyone! Zipsters get rewarded for sharing valuable information and entertaining content and businesses get the exposure they need to be seen and the foot traffic they need to earn revenue. For everyone to benefit from Zipstory we all need to help ensure that the Zipstory community is fun, safe, and engaging. Because of this we ask that you, as a Zipster, please remember to be respectful of our other Zipsters and our subscribed businesses by posting quality stories that are informative and/or entertaining, thoughtfully upvoting and downvoting stories, providing useful answers to questions, accurately reviewing businesses, and flagging spam or inappropriate content.
